What is the focus of this workshop?

This workshop focuses on engaging the creativity of the theater artist

both on or off of the stage, and inside or outside of the rehearsal room.

In other words, the theater artist's creative life practice.

In traditional acting classes and theater training programs,

the primary and necessary focus is on the craft of the actor

and the business of the performing arts.

What is not often addressed is how to live a fulfilling creative life

before, during, and after each project.

What does it mean to be an artist?

With or without a production, the individual theater artist

requires on-going enrichment of their creative life that brings

a quality of fulfillment no matter what production project they are

working on and no matter what job they are doing to earn a living.

What does the workshop include?

Over the course of the two days, participants engage in a combination physical activities, investigations and experimentation

through group and individual exercises taken from the OTOA Performance Technique & Training (PTT)™ format that are combined with activities from OTOA Creative Life Practice (CLP)™.

Exercises are followed by group dialogue, journaling and contemplation.

Participants will be asked to bring in 4-5 lines from of newly memorized text.

There will also be a creative pre-class assignment given to each participant to prepare

in advance of the first day of the workshop.

What are the benefits?

Participants benefit from:

º Engaging and enriching their craft

º Building a deeper creative connection to themselves as artists

o Identifying resources for a daily practice in manifestation, transformation, and actualization
